In 2019, I was invited to join the international production of Walk The World, a Discovery Channel series produced by CJ Entertainment with the support of the China Government. Hosted by Alvin Leung, the Michelin-starred "Demon Chef," and Eric Chong, winner of MasterChef Canada, the series embarked on a fascinating journey to trace the evolution of rice—from humble village farms in China to high-tech rice fields in Dubai.

I stepped in as the associate producer just two weeks before the overseas shoot began, tasked with bridging communication between the production team and local communities across China, Thailand, Malaysia, and Dubai. My ability to navigate English and Mandarin was crucial in aligning the diverse teams and ensuring a smooth, culturally respectful production process.

The two-month shoot was intense and physically demanding. We were constantly on the move—often checking out of hotels immediately after a quick shower, catching sleep on buses, trains, and flights as we raced from one story to the next. Despite the exhaustion, the bond we built as a crew remains one of the most treasured experiences of my career.

Our tight-knit team’s dedication and visual storytelling impressed the client, who remarked that our small, agile crew outperformed some of their top-tier local productions, even drawing comparisons to the acclaimed series A Bite of China (舌尖上的中国).

To this day, whenever I reunite with the crew, we still fondly remember those tough, sleep-deprived, but incredibly fulfilling days.
