To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Huat Lai Resources, I was invited to direct a docuseries capturing the remarkable journey of this family-founded poultry business.

From a humble, muddy egg farm to a 9,000-strong operation spanning egg, broiler, and processed chicken production, Huat Lai’s story is one of perseverance and growth. Over four months, I interviewed nearly 50 people—from the first-generation founders and loyal employees to migrant workers and second-generation leaders—collecting intimate stories that reflect the soul of the company.

Deeply moved by the mutual devotion between the company and its people, I shaped the series around the theme “Huat Lai: 30 Years of Perseverance; Celebrating a Legacy of Excellence” The six short films premiered at their anniversary gala before 2,000 guests, drawing both tears and applause. For me, this was more than just a corporate video—it was an emotional journey and a chance to preserve a legacy with heart.
